This Parnell villa had good bones but was tired and closed in — a series of small rooms that didn't connect and a facade that needed careful thought before anything could change.
Working within the heritage overlay, we navigated council requirements to open up the interior while keeping the street character intact. The facade was retained and restored with materials true to the original — the same weatherboards, the same proportions, the same quiet presence on the street.
Inside, the transformation was complete. Walls came down, spaces were reconnected, and light was brought back in. The result is a home that feels genuinely at ease with its age while working beautifully for contemporary life.
The client loved the result so much they came back for a second project.
